On September 25, 2017, Ennis, Inc. issued a press release announcing its financial results for the three and six months ended
August 31, 2017. A copy of the press release is furnished with this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference herein.

On
September 22, 2017, the Company announced that the Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 20 cents a share on its common stock. The dividend is payable November 10, 2017 to shareholders of record on
October 13, 2017.
